Sharing Our Lives:
Living in the Unaccepting World

Being in love with the same sex is powerful. It's a feeling that is
indescribable. For a year and a half I have dated the most precious,
sensitive, and strongest black female I know. We are two young females,
but the love that we have has no age limit upon it. We have yet to come
out to our families, but we are openly ready to face the world. When I
am with my "wife" I feel as though it is us against the ignorant
society. We often wonder why we are afraid to hold our heads and kiss
each other without being ashamed. Is there something inside of us that
thinks being gay is wrong? But that can't be true when being in love is
so right. Being from the Deep South we have been installed with strong
religious believes, meaning that this is in fact a sin. It has been told
to us so many times that if it was to be true we are willing to go to
hell only if we can stay together. This is in fact a show of proof that
our young and beautiful love has no boundaries. This is a way to help us
understand that there is someone that we can speak to who is living this
magnificent life. I have considered myself to be the strongest female.
Some women go their entire lives looking for a man to love them when
there is a woman out there that will give them the world. This is the end
of my story, no let me rephrase that...this is the end of the truth. I
hope that you can learn something from this ...because I have.
