I didn't know Ms. Ellis, personally although I wish I had. I also wish I could have known Audre, Barbara and Anita, but they too have passed on.
I take this time to not be sadden by Ms. Ellis' departure from this physical world, but rejoice in her life givings and works. She
inspired many and I dare say will inspire generations to come.
I also want to take this time to plead with other sistahs in the life, who may or may not be out;
to not let another moment go by without celebrating who you are. I'm sure there are others who will
be pick up where Ms. Ellis left off and I hope I will have the opportunity to know you.
I don't want to keep saying I wish I knew 'her'. I want to know you and for you to know me as your sistah.
Let's embrace that which gives us life, the essence of who we are.
Let's honor the life of Ms. Ellis by lifting the veil of invisiblity.
Take care my sistahs, and thank you Ms. Ellis for carrying the torch for so many years.
