hello all,
i am 28 years old and live in kentucky. i am writing because i feel it is necessary to share my joy. i am one of the many who have been inspired by Mother Ruth Ellis. i had the opportunity to attend a movie screening of Living With Pride @100 right here in kentucky. the documentary spoke volumes to me. sometimes i feel there is a hole in my existence. this hole is a result of the need to connect with those who have come before me. this video allowed a medium for me to do just that.
i was overwhelmed by the beauty that exuded from Mother Ellis. i was entranced by the sense of peace and pride with which she lived. i was reminded of my great-grandmother who passed away last year at 98, 2 months before her 99th birthday. i was reminded of the strength it takes to live a century and still be able to speak about it.
it is my hope that the entire nation will become aware of the marvelous contributions made by Mother Ellis and realize there are others among us. it is through this woman that i have only seen images of, that i see my future. and believe me, it is brighter than i ever imagined it could be. the hole has now been filled.
thank you yvonne welborn for bringing Ruth Ellis in all her immortality to Kentucky. i have been moved.
